About This Beer
To craft this blend, the brewers took their already exceptional Anniversary Stout — aged for 36 months in ex-bourbon vanilla extract barrels — and combined it with a Golden Barleywine that spent 12-18 months slumbering in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
You’ll taste soaring notes of vanilla as they fold into nuances of molasses, dark chocolate, and caramel. Hints of oak and toffee-drizzled dates cascade towards a luscious finish with just a whisper of balancing bitterness.

Tons of different flavors in here. Thankfully the barleywine didn’t dominate, but instead blended with the barrels and some chocolate notes. Very desserty and very good.

Lots of caramel and dark fruits. More sweetness from the barleywine that doesn't quite get balanced out by stout bitterness.

Initial nose/taste is minty/licorice. After a few sips it’s like drinking vanilla extract! Overwhelms other flavors. Not what I expect from a combination of stout and barleywine.
