A Note on This Beer
Mother of All Storms is the very definition of a bucket-list beer:
- The English-style Barleywine is world-renowned, earning 11 international and local medals since 2009!
- Pelican Brewing spends an insane amount of time crafting it. They age the brew for an entire year in Kentucky bourbon barrels, steeping its dark fruit flavors in deep vanilla, toasted malt, and molasses complexity.
- It clocks in at a daring 14% ABV, so it’s worth planning out when you open the bottle to savor its whiskey-drenched warmth.
- The beer is released in small batches just once a year at Pelican’s Oregon taprooms. They often sell out in presales!
As @Greywulfkin raved on BeerAdvocate after their tasting: “This beer spent far too long on my wants list, but it was every bit worth the wait. One of the best English Barleywines out there.”
Are your dark beer-lovin’ tastebuds thirsty? Better hurry – we only have 240 bottles, so this Mother of All Storms is set to disappear as quickly as it rolled in!

I don't remember this being as stouty as it is but maybe cause I had an English barleywine right before it, also gratitude, but damn delicious dark toffee chocolate bourbon sweetness. Nose of hoppy barrels. Clean crisp truck load of barleywine finish.
