A Note on This Beer
Even if you’re a full-on, cellar-having, trade-making beer geek, there’s a good chance you haven’t heard of Bombastic Brewing. Heck, you probably haven’t even heard of their tiny hometown of Hayden, Idaho!
But craft fiends all over the state and even eastern Washington sure have!
They make the drive to Hayden whenever Bombastic drops a new release. Because outside of a handful of local bottle shops, that’s the only way to score brews like today’s Murder Imperial Stout.
Even if you trek up to the Gem State, scoring a can or two of this brew — infused with cacao nibs, vanilla, cinnamon, and a hint of spice from ancho chilis and cayenne pepper — ain’t that easy. The brewery doesn’t even have a taproom!
To get these brews, you’d have to get on Bombasic’s email list, order online when they announce a new brew, then wait for them to tell you when you can pick it up. And you’d better be on time, or you might arrive to find the doors locked!
Then you’d never get to taste the Mexican chocolate profile of Murder, with its layers of dark chocolate and earthy, lingering spice.
You’ve likely tried a chili and chocolate Stout before — Evil Twin, Westbrook, and Stone all make them — but I’ll bet you’ve never tried one from Hayden, Idaho. So grab a few cans of Murder and introduce yourself to Bombastic. You don’t even have to schedule a visit!
