A Note on This Beer
Today, we’ve got a pair of Hazies brewed with hops you’ve likely never tried — from a brewery you’ve probably never heard of!
The brewery is The Ferndale Project — the new experimental arm of Eastern Market Brewing that opened just one year ago. PorchDrinking.com already praises this crew as one of the Best New Breweries in the Mitten State! They even have a crazy-high 4.17 brewery rating on Untappd!
And, if you want to find out what makes their haze so unique, just check out this juicy duo:
First up, we have Solo Copper, an Imperial New England IPA brewed with 100% Michigan Grown Copper Hops! If you’ve never tried a beer made with Michigan hops, you might be feeling a little skeptical — but there’s no reason to doubt the deliciousness; this brew comes with an eye-catching 4.26 UT score!
Fans can’t stop sipping the juicy, pineapple-meets-passionfruit flavors in this brew. It’s delightfully juicy, but a thicket of resinous pine on the finish keeps it balanced and dry, with lingering notes of pithy grapefruit. This brew might smell like a tropical smoothie, but as the brewers say, it’s “pure Michigan!”
Next, take your tastebuds on a journey through the real-life Middle Earth with My Precious. This 4.22 UT-rated Imperial juicebomb features a trio of New Zealand grown cones, including Nelson Sauvin, Rakau, and rarely seen Kohatu Hops!
Open the can, and a typhoon of ripe mango and bright pineapple aromas come gusting out. Take a sip, and this tropical tempest surges across the palate with notes of papaya, lychee, and tangy tangerine. One taste, and you’ll want to keep this treasure all to yourself, just like the one ring.
If you’re a hophead, this is an exceedingly rare opportunity to try some rarely seen hops from this beloved new brewery.
