A Note on This Beer
Today’s Nectarine Sour Ale is a collaboration between two legends of Oregon craft beer: Ecliptic and Breakside. This is like if The Beatles and The Rolling Stones made an album together. You just know it’s gonna be awesome!!
Breakside is a Portland institution. They were named Brewery of the Year at the 2018 Best of Craft Beer Awards, and they’re so beloved in Oregon that they’ve opened two new locations just to keep up with demand. Ecliptic was founded by craft icon John Harris, who created game-changing brews like Mirror Pond and Black Butte at Deschutes over 3 decades ago.
Now they’ve joined forces to celebrate Ecliptic’s 5th anniversary with today’s Nectarine Sour Ale. This Oregon-grown collab is only available in the Northwest, so if you want to taste an epic limited release brew from two superstars of craft, better grab a bottle while you can.
Pop open the top on this 8.3% ABV sipper and bask in a whole orchard’s worth of juicy nectarine aromas. Tart, citrus-like acidity will make you pucker for a moment, then malty complexity swoops across the palate to soften things up. Look for notes of tangerine, peach, apricot, and nuances of plum. It’s like every stonefruit on the West coast blended up with a shot of citrus!
Very few brewers have the talent and dedication to keep producing incredible beers year after year. With Nectarine Sour, Breakside and Ecliptic have proven once again that they’re still at the forefront of craft.
Grab a bottle and experience what happens when two titans of beer come together. It really is like The Beatles and The Stones cut an album. Almost brings a tear to your eye.
*This is the third 5th Anniversary collaboration that Ecliptic is releasing this year, and the first two sold out immediately. This one won’t last long!
This beer is too new for ratings!
