A Note on This Beer

In my humble opinion, kumquats are one of the most underrated fruits. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a beer brewed with this noble citrus fruit!

That is, not until Spring House Brewing came along and showed us what we’ve been missing.

They brewed today’s Nocturnal Exodus with heaps of real kumquats, along with a hefty load of fresh limes! You can really taste the mouth-watering, orange citrus tang of the kumquats as they open up to the mild zings of puckering lime.

By combining these juicy fruits into the salted backbone of a Gose Ale base, Spring House transforms Nocturnal Exodus into a sparkling orange-limeade, ready to crush your thirst at every turn!

Pennsylvania craft fans are seriously gung-ho on this mega-refreshing Gose, stuffing cans into coolers for outdoor adventures and singing praises like, “Amazing! Super refreshing! Gotta keep my fridge stocked with this!!” And, “Hopefully it’s still around throughout the summer!”

As Gose beers go, this did it for me. As my first one ever, I was scared what it would taste like but was quickly reaffirmed that it was indeed greatness! Very Refreshing.

When I say this is tart, I mean TART. Remember that back-of-the-jaw cheek tightening you'd get when you sucked on a lemon, or right after putting a warhead on your tongue? This is that. Especially when it's straight out of the fridge. Allowing it to warm up a little you're then greeted with the kumquat and lime flavors this promises without having to squint your eyes, lips, and teeth.

"Nocturnal Exodus"! This is a Gose clocking in at 4.5% and gives off light peach aromatics followed quickly by notes of fresh lime zest and a hint of kumquat. Needed more of that considering this is an actual Lime-kumquat ale. It all finishes crisp and citrusy on a briney backbone traditional to a gose. Head pour was light and fleeting but this is still refreshing and pleasant. A great, 90 degree August day drink! The can alone is a stunning work of art! 🍻😁👍👍 ⭐⭐⭐💫💫
