One sip of today’s Noise Floor and I get what these craft-fans are talking about!

Modist dubbs this brew a New England Cream IPA. It’s their answer to a Milkshake IPA, but an even fluffier, and dare I say, dreamier take.

Every mouthful flows with lush tropical fruit and citrus aromas from a double dry-hopped blend of Citra, Sabro, and Nelson Sauvin Hops. Big, juicy-sweet flavors of orange pith, lychee, and mango drench the palate. Golden Promise and wheat malts, oats, and milk sugar make for an incredibly creamy texture!

The brewery suggests pouring a glass, putting on your favorite album, and getting lost in the sweet escape of both taste and sound — the Noise Floor.

For as long as it takes to sip that last drop out of the can, it’ll be hard not to get wonderfully lost in the juicy escape of this brew.

*Modist is a GABF mdalist AND they brew up some of Minnesota’s “Most Innovative Beers,” according to the judges at the Minnesota Brewer’s Cup!

This was a really great IPA. The cream aspect of it was subtle, and not enough to interfere with the texture. Basic IPA flavor. Would highly recommend to IPA officionodos.

The sweet hint gives it a nice contrast to the hops. Haven’t been disappointed yet with what I’ve had from Modist. I’m a fan!

Couldn't be more milky and smooth. It's not cloying and it is perfectly balanced - which is where this style usually loses people. It's tremendous. Orange Creamsicle vibes. I'm in love.

This is a quite sweet NE IPA that also has a fair amount of complexity. Mouthfeel is on point with creamy, silky carbonation. Additionally, the malt backbone is perfect for this beer, with a great golden promise foundation and just the right amount of hazy grains. I am not completely on board with the addition of lactose to this beer however, as I think it becomes cloyingly sweet. The hop aroma straight out of the can is fantastic, but the actual flavor is a bit disappointing. There is definitely some citrus notes, but it is all a bit muddy and could use a nice crisp orange citrus note coming through. Bitterness is perhaps a touch light as well, bit not bad. Definitely a big flavor beer that is above average in the NE IPA category.

Not sure I've ever had a cream IPA before, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel. This beer is excellent. All the flavors you love in an IPA but the creamy finish takes it to a different level for me.

Some cream IPA’s are just a smooth version of their lactose free siblings. This one adds in a tiny bit of sweet which takes the bitter bite off the hops. I would say it’s a sweet beer. But it’s well rounded.
