About This Beer
The crew at Prairie teamed up with their friends at American Solera and crafted this decadent dram. Then they let it mature for a whole year in Pursuit Spirits UNITED Bourbon Barrels.
Tasting Notes
Each rich sip brings on stunning notes of fudgy chocolate, crème brûlée, and raisin. Hints of espresso mingle with the roasty malty backbone. Without any other adjuncts to stand in the way, Not Subtle finishes with a complex barrel character teeming with wood spice, vanilla, and whiskey. And the only hint of the boozy 14.4% ABV is a gentle warmth that spreads from chest to fingertips as you indulge.

This, in my opinion, was horrible cold. It mellowed and wasn’t bad as it warmed. Very roasted malts!

A really superb Prairie. They get a little too wild with the adjuncts for my taste, so this more pure take on their stout was a welcome change of events.

Nice chocolate notes on the stout base. Bourbon-barrel aging is well done.

love both breweries but this one just isn’t there. great aroma, but body isn’t enough to support barrel character.
