A Note on This Beer
Here’s what Craft Beer & Brewing had to say about Ok, Fine IPA:
“Guava and chardonnay complement the slightly woody coconut note on the nose, while the mid-sweet sip and soft low bitterness amplify the fruit notes.”
I 100% agree with their assessment, except that they didn’t mention all the layers of fresh squeezed OJ and pithy grapefruit! There’s also a hit of piney resin on the finish that’s reminiscent of a West Coast Style IPA, but it’s balanced by all that Hazy juice.
How Seattle’s Standard Brewing managed to wring so much flavor out of Experimental Hop HBC 692, Azacca Hops and a pile of Mosaic Cryo Hops is beyond me. But hey, it isn’t the first time these Best of Craft Beer Award-winners have managed to take me by surprise!
That’s why they’re so beloved here in Seattle. Folks like ‘em so much that their brews practically never leave the city limits — this is only the 4th beer we’ve ever scored from Standard!
Which is absurd, because the brewery is mere blocks from my house. But there just isn’t enough to go around!
If you want to grab a taste of a Seattle brewery that’s usually locals-only, grab a few cans of OK, Fine and savor this PNW juice.
