About This Beer

The brewers blended some of their most beloved brews to create this batch, including whiskey barrel-aged vintages of Velvet Merkin Imperial Stout, Bravo Brown Ale, Stickee Monkee Strong Ale.

Then, they set about recreating two classic cocktails — the old fashioned and the manhattan. To capture those flavors, the brewers took select vintages of their Parabola Russian Imperial Stout and Helldorado Barleywine, and aged them in barrels previously used to mature cherry, orange, and aromatic bitters.

Tasting Notes

Exceedingly rare bitters barrels create aromas of dark cherry, citrus, and clove. Each shockingly smooth sip floods the palate with notes of dark chocolate, new leather, and even more cherry-manhattan flavor. It really is like sipping a high-end cocktail expertly crafted by a speak-easy mixologist.

Couldn't remember if I tasted this at the Big Texas Beer Fest or not. Turns out I did. My 2 friends loved it, but it was too much for me. I see the concept of the beer, but it tastes like it's trying too hard with all the mixing and barrel aging. I know I'm the odd one out on this one.

An interesting blend of awesome FW ales not unlike the anniversary blend, barrel aging adds whiskey notes, seems like a barley wine, stout, or strong with hints of Old Fashioned and the Manhattan cocktails.
