A Note on This Beer

If Barleywine is life, and variety is the spice of life, then it looks like it’s time to spice things up with an utterly unique Barleywine!

For this special variant of Orange Giant, the brewers at Ecliptic took their resinous, 12.5% ABV American-style Barleywine and dry-hopped it three separate times with Columbus, Chinook, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Azacca.

Rich aromas of citrus and pine escape out of every full, red-mahogany pour. The taste follows –– bright, spiced citrus seeps into dark wood, all wrapped in treacly caramel and chewy date.

Ecliptic only releases this big, bold Barleywine once a year, and there’s no guarantee they’ll repeat this sumptuous variant again. Why not grab a couple cans so you can impress your friends with a rare Barleywine unlike anything you’ve tasted before?

In 2020, Ecliptic earned gold in the U.S. Open Beer Championship, silver in Sip Magazine’s Best of the Northwest Competition, and fifth on Wine Enthusiast’s Top 25 Beer List!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Ecliptic Brewing is certified independent by the Brewers Association

nice dry hoppy barley wine drinks much easier than it’s ABV solid beer for those who can handle it.

I really enjoyed this one. Not your typical barleywine. Bitterness is under control but there. Dry hopping gave it a nice aroma. Well attenuated for a barleywine ; kept me wanting another sip. Big beer but alcohol is hidden in the taste.

A bit confusing like a long lost sibling who wasn’t quite brought up right. but good company nonetheless.
