Hops: Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe mix with real smoothie ingredients to make one helluva creamsicle-like Milkshake IPA. Aroma: Like oranges being sliced open right below your nose. Flavors: Juicy orange blends with banana and creamy vanilla — like drinking a freshly-blended fruit smoothie. 

To keep my older sister responsible back in the day, our parents made her bring me along whenever she stepped out to the mecca of teen-dom — the mall. 

But I didn’t mind one bit. Sis would just plant me next to the Orange Julius stand, and I’d get to sip on creamsicle-esque juicy smoothies for hours until she was ready to leave!

My taste buds still buzz if I even look at a creamy orange beverage. But man, when I stopped in North Dakota to visit the US Open Beer Championship medalists at Drekker and was greeted with a milky orange pint of today’s Orange You Glad I Didn’t Say PRRRT, my palate damn near exploded.

The juice-obsessed hop masters loaded up this Imperial Milkshake IPA with actual whole oranges and freshly mashed banana puree straight from Chiquita (yes, really). They also added real vanilla beans and slathered the brew in lactose. 

Orange You Glad is a rich n’ velvety juice-dream wrapped up in an 8% ABV!

But the Drekker folks could only spare 20 cases when I asked for a stash of this pillowy SunnyD of a beer. That’s because they only brewed 60 barrels, and like all of their limited PRRRT series brews, it’s already selling fast among Midwest craft fiends.

So grab these cans quickly to make sure your citrusy Milkshake IPA thirst is quenched. Just like all those Orange Julius stands you used to see in the mall, this one ain’t gonna be around forever!
