About This Beer
To create it, the brewers concocted a mash of 35% malted rye and 65% Maris Otter barley imported from England. Then they gave it an extra long 24 hour boil to create intense caramel and toffee flavors. Finally, they aged the beer for 15 months in freshly emptied Sagamore Rye Whiskey barrels.
Tasting Notes
And the results are friggin’ exceptional. You’ll taste soaring notes of spicy rye whiskey tempered by hints of oak and barrel char. Nuances of burnt sugar play beautifully against nuances of dark bread crust and drizzles of honey sweetness. And that big 13% ABV? You’ll barely notice it until it starts to warm your belly.
