About This Beer
To craft this unprecedented autumnal treat, the Fonta Flora crew started with 50% traditional Märzen Lagerbier brimming with all the bready nuances you crave this time of year. Then, in an inspired twist, they blended it with 50% bourbon barrel aged English Barleywine, gorgeously marrying the two styles’ toffee-like tones.
Tasting Notes
Decadent notes of toasted wheat, golden caramel, and doughy pretzel course through every quaff. Sticky date and vanilla oak tones swirl underneath leading into a clean finish.
Careful reaching for a second stein, though — this beauty hides a 9% ABV!

almost hits the spot but sweetness comes at the expense of complexity

This is an odd hybrid beer. I like both styles individually. However, this drinks too boozy at lager serving temp, and it drinks like a watered down ale at cellar temp.

It's very rich, but not particularly complex. Just tastes malty and oaky, with not much else going on

Pumpernickel aroma, along with some caramel. Big cherry cola, date, and fig notes in the taste. Very light booziness with sweetness.
