A Note on This Beer
My paper boy looks nothing like the nostalgic image of a freckled kid on a bicycle, waving merrily as he tosses the morning news. He’s at least 22 and scoots around in a cranky 1996 Dodge Neon. About once a week, he throws my Seattle Times into the neighbor’s pool. I think his name is Devin.
But, I can’t be mad — no matter how many times I have to fish out a soggy paper. I’ve found a way to mellow out in the afternoons, and it’s called Paper Boy NE IPA!
After chatting with the GABF Gold Medalists at Masthead, a fitting news headline for this beer would surely be “Award-winning Brewery Crafts Tropical Hazy IPA with Their ‘Favorite American Hops’”
Okay, so maybe I’ll leave the wording up to actual news people, but I’m willing to help with the reporting if it involves sipping this quencher all afternoon!
This is one luscious Hazy, replete with orange and grapefruit flavors and backed with sweet pineapple notes. Just a little pine resin comes in on the finish, like an editor’s note adding complexity to a juicy front-page story.
The brew clocks in at a pleasantly buzzing 7.3% ABV too. So, I can kick back with it and be totally relaxed, but still have the energy to chase down Devin’s wild throws.
