About This Beer
Any serious craft fan knows about Firestone Walker’s infamous Parabola. It’s an absolutely stunning Stout with a cult-like following. But Paraboloid (2023) takes that classic brew to brand-new heights by aging the base for 18 months in a special selection of premium 20-year-old Elijah Craig bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
All that exquisite wood masterfully accentuates the beer’s signature dark chocolate, cherry, and vanilla notes with sublime whiskey-oak undertones. Hints of raisin pepper the finish, while a roasty malty backbone holds the whole sip together, never once letting the boozy 13% ABV obscure the flavors.

Not as tasty as the ‘23 Parabola to me, but still a top notch bottle. Deep flavor and a lot of barrel nuance.

A good blend of flavors and booze. The boozie part kind of overwhelms the flavors slightly. Not too bad, but not super good either.

Cocoa. Coffee. Oak. Vanilla. Touch of
coconut. Roasty. Bourbon. Smooth. Thin body. Moderately bitter finish. Easy drinking for a RIS.
Beer before glory.
