About This Beer

When Jean Broillet of Tired Hands ventured out to Alaska, he made a bet with Anchorage’s founder Gabe Fletcher about who could catch more fish. The loser would get pied in the face. Gabe won and has yet to claim his prize. But, he’s been lording it over Jean ever since with this sensational juicebomb.

The Alaskan lupulin legends loaded a fluffy base with thiol-boosting yeast for extra waves of succulence. And they double dry hopped it exclusively with Galaxy for bursts of nectar in each sip.

Tasting Notes

Drippy peach, luscious mandarin, and sun-kissed pineapple nuances surge through every pillowy swig. A pinch of earth and pithy grapefruit bring bitter balance on the backend.

Unlike most of my other tasting notes, I don’t have much to say about this one accept that it’s fantastic! The aromas and flavors go to get her like a hand and a glove. You get the beautiful creamy passion fruit and orange flavor from those galaxy hops and it is consistent throughout the whole experience. Would definitely recommend!

Quite light, refreshing, Hints of lemon, and sea breeze. I can see how this would pair nicely with a heavy dessert like a cake or a pie. It ends rather bitter, like black licorice tree bark.

Delicious tropical flavors really carried this one. Still tastes like an IPA but the pineapple and other tropical flavors really burst through this brew in every sip. It was delicious!

Light grassy nose with a subtle hint of sweetness. Flavor reflects the nose, but with more distinctive but still light, citrus and peach sweetness. Really light drink overall, thin mouthfeel.

A really good first sampling from Anchorage. Can’t wait to try more from them. Not too juicy, not too hoppy.

Nose of orange & wildflowers. Pours hazy golden w/minimal head. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. Big grapefruit notes on the palate. Secondary flavors of tangerine, juniper. Low to moderate bitterness at finish. It’s a refreshing, hoppy, grapefruity treat.

What a strange beer. I like it, but it’s weird. There is this airy “fluff” for lack of a better term that hits the center of the tongue up front, but finishes like a regular NEIPA, but concentrated on the outside of the tongue. Definitely a unique one, with a cool back story to boot.
