A Note on This Beer

Today’s Pilscifer Contraposition Pilsner can only be described as “incredibly refreshing.”

We can attest! Sippin’ this crazy-crushable Pils at the end of a long day is a recipe for newfound energy!

Sig Brewing’s head honcho, Jeff Stokes, captains the two-man brew crew behind this quencher — yes, the brewery is that tiny! There, he and brewing partner Dante Hernandez craft sought-after, small-batch brews like today’s 5.5% ABV delight, double dry-hopped with heaps of Strata Hops.

Flaked corn, rolled oats, malted oats, and Munich and Pilsner malts round out the base, making the brew light and crisp in body, with an aroma reminiscent of Mom’s homemade, honey-drizzled biscuits.

Take a sip and you’ll find classic floral notes mingling with citrusy and tropical fruit nuances from the hops. Flavors of bread crust and a faint touch of grapefruit pithiness round things out on the way to a clean finish.

With delightful, quaffable flavors like that, it’s no wonder the Sig team describes Pilscifer as “probably our favorite beer we make!”

Another lager dry-hopped to rainbow-colored, candy-sweet fruitiness. I prefer beer that tastes like beer, not Kool-Aid. Toucan San might love this, but not me.

I’m not a huge fan of dry hopped Pilsners. If I knew this one was a dry hopped I wouldn’t have bought it. With that being said it was pretty nice. Strata definitely is dominant but it’s not unbearable. Nice and crisp but not what I’d look for in a Pilsner. Keep the weird hops for the IPA’s Pilsners are better traditional

16oz can from Tavour. Clear golden, carbonated, white foamy head. Aroma is clean grainy, bready malts, biscuits. Taste is simple and straight forward, nothing fancy, and spit for a pils. This is perfect on a stinking hit day.

A nice crisp clean lemony Pilsner. There are a lot better examples of this out there.

Good hoppy flavor, but still the taste of a pilsner. Great pool beer on a hot day!

This is a nice beer, but had a stronger toasty malt flavor than I expected from the pils.

As straightforward as a hopped Pilsner can be. Crisp, clean, hoppy and refreshing. Enjoyed this New American Pilsner on the 4th of July while watching fireworks on my back deck. Felt patriotic.
