A Note on This Beer
I have a confession to make: I’m obsessed with The Great British Baking Show.
But, today’s delicious Sour reminds me that it’s not just amateur bakers from the UK who can make a mean peach pastry — it’s breweries in Iowa, too!
Pleased as Pie - Peach comes from Adventurous Brewing, whose founder started out as a homebrewer back in 2013. After winning several homebrewing awards — while still working out of his garage — people started paying close attention.
In 2018, he sent out his first batch of beer. Now, 3 years later, he and his partner are practically running the pastry scene in their part of the state — just like Paul Hollywood on my favorite show!
They crafted Pleased as Pie - Peach with vanilla, cinnamon, lactose, and yes — heaps of juicy peaches. Each exquisite sip envelops your tongue in notes of freshly baked peach pie with a crumbly, cinnamon-dusted crust and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s the kind of treat that’d have those delightful British judges kissing their fingertips and declaring, “Delicious!”
You won’t be able to snag THESE peaches anywhere outside of Iowa. So, if just thinking about baking makes you crave a sumptuous dessert like this, you know what to do!
