A Note on This Beer
We rarely see English Dark Mild Ales on Tavour, let alone one brewed with coffee! But the low-ABV Brown Ale with deep, malty character makes for an exceptionally sessionable breakfast beer.
And Elder Pine designed Pliable Foe to be just that! To craft it, the Maryland crew brewed an English Dark Mild with Maris Otter barley and roasted malts for a gorgeous, toasty flavor.
Then, they briefly aged the brew on Dark Sulawesi Kalossi — a coffee grown at high altitudes on the side of a volcano in Indonesia. Aficionados love its incredibly low acidity and astoundingly rich, velvety flavor.
Don’t let the mild ABV of this beer fool you! Every sip cascades with intense eruptions of fresh cold brew, chocolate covered raisins, and toast topped with fig jam. Light and refreshing, this bold, brunch beer won’t weigh you down the rest of the day.
Torn between an evening pot of decaf or a post-work, kick-up-your-feet kind of brew? Pliable Foe is the best of both worlds!
