About This Beer
In Guatemala, there’s a Mayan Saint named Maximon who chain smokes, parties, and yes, drinks like a fish. This rum-barrel Aged Imperial Stout, infused with cinnamon, cacao, and ancho chilis, tastes like it was brewed in his honor.
Even the name Popo Vuh comes from a Mayan holy text!
Tasting Notes
At 12% ABV, it’s strong enough to satisfy a rum-soaked deity, and the gently warming heat from cinnamon and chilis evokes the flavors of Central America. And the fudgy flavors on the finish definitely taste divine — within many Mayan traditions, chocolate is the food of the gods!
