Today’s Imperial Stout is named Raspberry French Toast because it tastes like:

Raspberry. French. Toast!

I’m over-the-breakfast-plate delighted, because I’ve already downed a can and it was shockingly smooth for 12% ABV. I won’t be doing anything for awhile except dreamily reminiscing about this brew’s silky cinnamon depths swirled with jammy berry goodness.

Those Pastry Stout masters just north of Chicago crafted this decadent treat with coffee-like dark malts and fermented it on hefty doses of real raspberries, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla. At the beginning it was very raspberry heavy and had more of a chocolate taste. As time went by and it got a little warmer I could taste more of the maple syrup and cinnamon. It was great, will definitely try some more out from Hubbard's Cave. Also I see some pretty low reviews on this one but mine tasted great. Maybe some of the people who gave this lower starred reviews didn't know what they were getting into.

I don’t even like raspberries, but I’m a huge fan of Hubbard Cave pastry stouts and this is another good one. The raspberry and maple complement each other nicely.

This is great! The thickness of the beer, fresh raspberries with cream this taste close to a berry with cream wine! I like this one with a great dark color and hazy dark foam! Oh yeah!

I guess I’m not a pastry stout guy. It was super thick. My first sip was really really good though! Like really good. After two more sips though I couldn’t keep drinking it. Again, not a stout guy. But if you are, this is good.

Big vanilla and cinnamon on the nose. The front of the palate is all cinnamon maple syrup and then vanilla raspberry kicks in. I like the complexity

I really like cinnamon, and I know that Hubbard’s can make, at times, annoyingly sweet stouts. This one seemed a bit tempered to me, but if I didn’t like cinnamon as much as I do I could see this beer being a chore to finish.

Raspberry was overpowering. Not a lot of French Toast flavors coming through. Had a bit of a burnt taste. Expected better. I always start the beer very cold and drink slowly. Not much improvement as it warmed. Overall disappointed. 😒

Nice but not as spectacular as I expect from Hubbard's Cave. A nice touch of raspberry over layers of rich chocolate, caramel, and a bit of char. Not very sweet, but definitely a dessert beer.

This is one of those stouts that would have been better as a nitro stout. It would have truly brought the flavors forward. Being that it was 12% ABV somewhat hurt the flavor too.

This one is incredible! A definite Stout that has tastes of Raspberry French Toast! It’s was so tasty I didn’t even want bacon. Crazy Right!?!
