The craft masters at Virginia’s Adroit Theory repeatedly stunned my palate this year with their G.I. Joe-themed series of IPAs.

With double-digit ABVs and massive amounts of hops, they’re boozy, brawny, and exactly the kind of beers I imagine ol’ Joe would swig after an action-packed day fighting the evil Cobra. 

Based on the 4+ ratings you’ve thrown their way, you guys like these hopbombs just as much as me. So, I should let you know — today’s REGIME (Ghost 916) is the very last one!

This 7th and final installment is a Hazy Triple IPA, flexed to action hero strength with a massive hop bill of Mosaic, Moutere, Motueka, Simcoe, Citra, and El Dorado, along with a 10% ABV!

It’s probably just the way Adroit expertly wove all the hops’ tropical fruit flavors together (with a dose of silky lactose to boot), but each sip makes me feel as impervious as an action hero — the booze is shockingly crushable! Aromas of tropical citrus with summery florals give way to a pillowy body full of gushy pineapple and mango. Just a whisper of orange peel bitterness weighs in on the finish.

Since REGIME is the last one, I know exactly what I’m going to do. I’m loading up the beer fridge with it, digging out my old action figures, and queuing up a bunch of old episodes of the cartoon. Say it with me: GO JOE!
