To craft today’s stunning Stout, the team at Cerebral let their friends at Mikerphone pick the adjuncts — Ecuadorian cacao nibs, hazelnut, and maple syrup.
Then the Cerebral team combed through their immaculate barrel stock to create a blend that would beautifully harmonize with the rich flavors they would impart, landing on Stout aged 27-35 months in 10-year Templeton Rye Whiskey and Balcones Texas Rye Whiskey barrels.
Tasting Notes
The final result is nothing short of an unmitigated success. Rich notes of syrup-soaked chocolate chip waffles open up the sip, with layers of roasty espresso and intricate nuttiness swirling underneath. As it fades, hints of rye spice, bourbon, and oaky vanilla add a sublime depth to the finish. All while keeping the 15.3% ABV remarkably smooth.
