About This Beer
To craft Ritual Of Oblivion in all its awesome might, the Varietal Beer Company had to be patient, discerning, and most importantly, thirsty for some dark brew.
The team started with a chewy English Barleywine base. They transferred it to a series of bourbon barrels, letting it sit for 18 whole months to coax out opulent whiskey complexities. Then, they hand selected and blended batches from four different barrels: Four Roses, Blanton’s Reserve, Heaven Hill, & Old Fitzgerald.
Tasting Notes
Strong aromas of sweet bourbon and toffee jolt the senses leading into a sumptuous sip of caramel. Smooth laces of vanilla and a touch of date creep in on the back with a beautiful spark of barrel fire from the 14.46% ABV.

boozy, toffee, Bourbon, wood greatness. I can't imagine how good this beer would be with a few years of aging.

Outstanding barleywine. Complex flavors, and so well-balanced. One to sip and savor. Also liked the easy opening wax dipped cap.

Nice caramel notes at the outset. Malts are well blended. Slight sweetness.
