About This Beer
Way back in the Middle Ages, before Germany’s Reinheitsgebot law restricted brewers to barley malts, rye was a common part of the grist bill. And once you get a taste of this sterling example from Grimm and Human Robot, you’ll see why!
The duo crafted this Roggenbier using plenty of rye in the mash. And they fermented it with the same yeast strain that Grimm uses for their Weissebier, lending it expressive Hefeweizen-like esters.
Tasting Notes
Every mahogany-hued pour blooms with malt-driven caramel and notes of pumpernickel bread crust. Hints of clove and dried apple mingle with the spicy grain. Then it all finishes crisp and dry with a dash of herbaceous bitterness.
