About This Beer
Why is the rum gone? To make room in the barrel for this rich and roasty Imperial Porter from pFriem Family Brewers!
And trust me, if Captain Jack Sparrow got a taste of this stuff, he’d forget all about the booze. Thanks to a full year in rum barrels, this brew brings all the Caribbean-tinged flavors of rum cake, vanilla bean, and cinnamon that a pirate could ask for.
Tasting Notes
The slightly spicy caribbean rum notes in this brew accentuate base notes of chocolate, coffee, and a touch of roasty char.

This was pretty smooth. It had some coffee, chocolate, and coconut flavors. Almost tasted like an almond joy candy bar!

I was a little disappointed because I could not taste any of the vanilla. However; the rum. is present and that is what might be overwhelming the vanilla. I found the taste to be even more intimate when paired with a steak 🥩…

tasty, but a little too much rum flavor

Definitely notes of dark fruit floating on the rum. Rum masks the porter base a bit.

I was looking forward to this after enjoying some of pFriem’s past barrel aged beers. This one missed the mark with me, the rum flavor with the strong porter was almost off-putting. I didn’t enjoy this beer very much.
