About This Beer
The GABF and World Beer Cup multi-medalists crafted this beauty by aging their roasty Russian Imperial Stout base in freshly-emptied rye whiskey barrels for a year. Then they blended it with traditionally brewed Vietnamese coffee for a complex sipper that’ll send you racing back to your glass again and again.
Tasting Notes
Look forward to roasty espresso tones tailing dark chocolate nuances in every smooth, medium-bodied sip. Huge barrel notes will treat your taste buds to oaky vanilla, bourbon caramel, and rye spice before it all culminates in a dry finish.

for a barrel aged beer it’s not too sweet and that’s a plus

Exactly what a real coffee stout should taste like. If you score this below a 4.5, stop drinking coffee stouts.

Roasted Vietnamese coffee aroma with a hint of toasted oak, thick creamy head, dry dark cocoa and vanilla tastes with peppery notes, rich, roasted malt character, and a warming Rye Whiskey finish.

It has some rye spice up front and a little vanilla. The coffee is obvious on the nose but is light on the taste. Wish it was a bit thicker.
