A Note on This Beer
Like most nerds, I’ve got a favorite episode of Rick and Morty. It’s the one where we discover that the genius scientist, Rick Sanchez — inventor of interdimensional travel — made a clone of his daughter, Beth.
One version of her is living a relatively normal life as a divorced veterinarian and mom of two, while the other is fighting wars in space. The question is, who is the REAL Beth, and who is the clone?
I won’t spoil it for you, but I will say this: like me, the crew at Listermann are total nerds. Their decadent Pastry Stout, S’morty Double Marshmallow, is inspired by my favorite space adventure cartoon!
They stuffed this intergalactic brew with chocolate, graham crackers, vanilla, nutmeg, lactose, and (in their own words) MASSIVE amounts of marshmallows. Each velvety sip is a mouthful of ooey-gooey toasted marshmallows, surrounded by rich milk chocolate and culminating in a crumbly graham cracker finish.
You can’t rate a beer above 5 on Untappd, but @Mike N. declares, “If I could give this a 6, I would.”
As for me, I’m gonna pop open a bottle tonight while shamelessly bingeing cartoons! Sure, Rick’s space adventures may get him into trouble, but Listermann’s craft adventures always end deliciously.
Listermann sits on stacks of awards from GABF, the U.S. Open Beer Championship, the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers, and more!
