About This Beer

In a shocking twist on the style, the spooky crew at Listermann brewed a Black IPA for the base. Dark and stormy notes of caramelly cocoa from roasted malts and berry-kissed, orange creamsicle flavors of Lotus and Amarillo Hops creep through every sip.

Then the brewers loaded the malty hop monster with gooey peanut butter and creamy chocolate turning it into buttercup bliss. Luscious vanilla and silky lactose give the shake its smooth, hand-spun flavor. One final treat — Chocolate peanut butter pieces — complete the craveable, candy-coated confection.

Tasting Notes

Currents of decadent dark chocolate and rich peanut butter bleed through every sip. Shadows of coffee and spiced citrus lurk beneath waiting to pounce. Like a peanut butter parfait, this brew is scary good!

Lots of peanut butter powdery aromas with a bit of cocoa maybe? Not as sweet as expected . . . . Ummmmm . . . I think something went wrong with this one. It tastes almost rancid. I think I got a bad one.

Peanut blast up front, quickly followed by burned herbal notes like charred grapefruit. Truly a unique combo of stout and IPA. Worth trying once, but might be hard to drink more than one.

this is unexpected - it smells and tastes like a stout, but drinks like a strong IPA. I love the deep flavors in it, but isn't too sweet like some stouts can be. huge fan!
