A Note on This Beer
Knee Deep Brewing’s Simtra Triple IPA is an uncensored hoppy deluge of 131 IBUs and 11.25% ABV.
Simtra fuses the woody dankness of Simcoe Hops with the musky tropical dankness of Citra, creating a double blast of pure lupulin flavor. The hops are specifically designed to deliver volatile dankness that coat the palate, top to bottom and side to side.
Dense aromas kick it off with grapefruit rind, passionfruit, ripe peaches, and a garnish of green onion swimming in heady booze. Pine resin, drunken orange, and sweet lemon zest fill out its hop-driven flavors. A dry and bitter finish cuts through its moderate body leading it to tail off with a linger of evaporating heat.
Because they demand obscene amounts of hops, Triple IPAs are typically only released by a brewery once a year, if at all. But at Knee Deep Brewing, the hop party never dies. Knee Deep cranks out three Triple IPAs year round. And of them all their Simtra Triple IPA is the dankest with high ratings to boot.
