About This Beer
Of all the tropical drink-drenched ‘70s soft-rock hits, Harry Nilsson and his emphatic demand that we ‘put the lime in the coconut’ feels the least appreciated.
Well, Harry, the crew at Fonta Flora is listening, and they did you one better. They put the coconut in the Barrel-Aged Stout, not once but TWICE, with their Spoonbill [Double Coconut].
Tasting Notes
This North Carolina craft crew is nuts for coconut! They took their luscious, smooth-bodied Imperial Stout and conditioned it on woodfired, oven-toasted coconut flakes. And then, oops, they did it again! But only after the brew sat in freshly emptied Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels for 15 months!
Each decadent sip of this dark brew combines malty sweetness with Bourbon barrel heat, wrapping its body-tingling 14% ABV in deliciously nuanced flavors. Earthy chocolate and tropical coconut swirl together like Mounds in a blender of Malibu while the bourbon lingers on the palate.
