A Note on This Beer
If there’s one thing the Pennsylvania craft scene is known for, it’s Milkshake IPAs. This creamy, fruit-forward style rocketed the state to global beer fame, with fans swarming breweries like Tired Hands to get a taste.
But now, there’s another PA brewery shaking things up. The World Beer Cup award-winning Spring House is carrying the torch with today’s Spundae Milkshake IPA — a nostalgically sweet cherry-and-vanilla ice cream split.
Maybe you haven’t heard of Spring House — they’re thick and juicy brews rarely leave Pennsylvania. But by snagging a few cans, you’re getting first taste of an under the radar brewery mixing up the Northeast craft scene.
Spundae is brewed with over 200lbs of cherry puree and double-dry hopped with mega-potent Citra Hops, and every sip tastes just like an old-fashioned ice cream sundae. Layers of bright orange and tangy tangerine swirl around waves of tart cherry with a touch of banana appearing on the finish. Real vanilla beans impart a smooth and pillowy mouthfeel that turns every sip of Spundae into a milkshake dream.
Is your mouth watering yet? Well you better act fast if you actually want to score a can — Spundae was released just last week and locals went so nutso for this 6.8% ABV grown-up milkshake, cans sold out entirely in just 12 hours!
Which means the 60 cases we snuck out of PA are the last ones in existence. So unless you’re planning a trip to Spring House’s taproom, don’t miss your chance to score the Milkshake IPA bringing all the Pennsylvania craft fans to the yard!
Spundae Milkshake IPA was released on 3/23/19 and is too new for ratings.
