About This Beer
Originally, the team set out to recreate their award-winning, critically acclaimed 9505 English Barleywine to celebrate the anniversary of their second taproom. But after endlessly sampling casks, they just couldn’t come up with the perfect components for a new blend. And since it’s coming from New Image, it’s got to be perfect.
After a little bit of frustration, the cellar lead and barrel manager suggested they taste a particular Stout — it was unmarked and had an unknown origin batch.
The flavors were “so remarkable, so complete and nuanced,” the brewers immediately decided to forgo any adjuncts, any blending, or even any carbonation, so that fans could take part in the same unadulterated, sublime experience they’d just had.
Tasting Notes
So with that in mind, please serve this stellar Still Stout at room temp — just like as if you’d gotten a cask pour yourself. We expect you’ll find complex layers of chicory and dark chocolate mingling with dark fruit, a touch of tangy funk, and port wine. And with nothing else standing in the way, you should really be able to appreciate the woody undertones imparted from the barrel.
