A Note on This Beer
Step aside West Coast and New England - there’s new regional IPA that you’ve gotta try - the crisp and aggressive citrus of the St. Louis style IPA!
Ok, so there’s only one St.Louis Style IPA in the whole world (not enough to make a new style yet), but it’s a two time gold medal winner with a unique hoppy character and the potential to launch a whole new category - the STLIPA from Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.
STLIPA gives you the aggressively citrus qualities of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade Hops with a St. Louis style Lager bite, which makes it incredibly easy to knock back. Urban Chestnut’s headbrewer Florian Kupent employs his German-training to deliver the sheer clean punch of hop flavor you’ll find in Stone IPAs. He also adds a dash of caramelly Munich Malt to echo its Midwest heritage. This beer is distinct, delicious and true to its hometown.
Shimmering flaxen gold, STLIPA lets off orange sap aromas spiked by a hay grass bitterness. Resin immediately sets the palate tingling. The woody hazelnuts of perfectly handled malts comes through interspersed with peppery grapefruit zest. A dry, crisp body piles on even more evergreen hop essences at the end, leaving you with a bittersweet sting.
So come seek out the St. Louis Style IPA when you’re looking for an IPA that’s infinitely quaffable by the steinful.
