A Note on This Beer
“Greatest Sour of all time!” @Johnathan H.
“It truly disturbs me how much this tastes like the PB&J on honey wheat bread that I made last week…” @Tyler V.
“Reminds me of elementary school!” @Julie H.
You know what, Julie? It reminds me of elementary school, too. Specifically, it reminds me of those 45-minute lunch periods when I’d pull a diagonally cut peanut butter and jelly sandwich out of a brown paper bag and stuff my face with every nutty, sweet, bread-crusty morsel.
I guess I owe a huge thanks to our brand new friends at Newgrass brewing, who created this liquid sandwich with their pals at Salud Cerveceria!
Because, today’s 4.33-rated Summer Camp Sammies (Grape Jelly) actually tastes like the real thing. But, unlike in elementary school, I don’t want to scarf it down as quickly as possible so that I can hit the playground. This stuff IS the playground.
It takes my taste buds up to the tippy top of the peanut butter big toy and across the grape jelly monkey bars, before the finish lands me in a sumptuously smooth pile of pillow-soft marshmallow sweetness. I’m tempted to fill a thermos with this stuff and carry it around in a Transformers lunchbox!
And, unless you’ve been to Newgrass’s busy taproom lately, you’ve never tried it. This is the first time it’s ever left North Carolina! If you’re not feeling nostalgic yet, just wait until you get a taste.
