A Note on This Beer

When it comes to getting your hands on new releases like The Doomed from Anchorage Brewing, I have three words for you: Grab. It. Fast.

Unless, of course, you DON’T want to be one of the blessed hopheads spewing exaltations like, “A 3X dry-hopped beauty!” Or, “Holy moly, this is so smooth… Delicious!”

Anchorage triple dry-hopped The Doomed with Citra and Strata for luscious flavors of guava nectar, unripe orange bitterness, and a hint of green pepper folded into every resinous sip. It’s hazy as all get-out, with a pillowy mouthfeel that’s softer than a fluffy white cloud in the blue skies above!

I can’t think of a single reason why a hophead wouldn’t be clawing for a can of this juicy hop elixir.

Especially since brews like The Doomed are among the most sought-after juicebombs around. The beer experts at Sip Magazine even call out Anchorage for crafting “some of the most coveted pours on the global craft scene!”

We all know that those who do not learn from their history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. So, if you’ve missed out on any Anchorage brews that came before this brand new one, don’t dilly-dally today.

And, if you’re new to the race for Anchorage juice, you know what to do.

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Anchorage Brewing Company is certified independent by the Brewers Association

Wow! The citrus aromas explode when poured into the glass, and they’re awesome. Grapefruit, passion fruit, and some berry/melon notes. Dank and smooth. Really tasty.

This is the perfect hazy beer. Perfect combo of hops. My only wish is that I would have gotten more.

I don't particularly like IPAs in general, but this one is a bit of an exception. The smell was a bit strong for me, and while the taste was a bit much to want to drink consistently and casually, it was a bit of a treat, the one time I had it.

Oh, sweet triple horned hop lord of barley this is gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. Pineapple on the nose with a creamy finish. It's balanced. It's flavourful. It's everything you could want in an IPA.

4.09/5 look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4 Poured from a 16 ounce can into a IPA glass. Look- Pale straw, very hazy, frothy white head, average head retention and lacing. Smell- Guava, pineapple. Taste- Orange, guava, pineapple. Feel- Creamy, clean finish, soft, mild bitterness, slightly below average carbonation, between medium and full body. Overall- Nice flavor, but bouquet is somewhat subtle.

Great haze, malty and syrupy at first, but quickly washes away into a sweet citrus and banana, then a hint of pine and booze as it transitions into a light bitterness in the finish.

I find Anchorage IPAs a bit up and down... but this one was up for me. The light guava flavour is great!
