A Note on This Beer
How can you tell the difference between a Fruit Sour Ale and an actual jar of jam?
An average Sour Ale contains less than a pound of fruit-per-gallon, where a jar of jam is packed with 4.5 lbs-per-gallon.
But, keeping these two fruity treats straight gets a little tricky when it comes to Urban Artifact’s The Gadget. The brewery uses over 2,560 lbs of real blackberries and raspberries — that’s more than in actual jam!
Using only real fruit, this brewing crew crafts 3 of UT’s Top 30 Ranked Fruit Beers in the World, giving New Glarus a serious run for their money as the Midwest’s premier fruit master!
And, after just one glorious, berry-stuffed sip of today’s Midwest Fruit Tart, your beer-drinking life will change.
Drinking it is like holding a fistful of perfectly ripe raspberries in one hand and blackberries in the other, and smashing them into your face at once, lapping up all the drippy, berry glory. The addition of vanilla beans lends a luscious creaminess to the mouthfeel.
This brew strikes that baffling balance between sweetness and natural fruit tartness, and its completely concealed 8.3% ABV makes us blush as deep as its plum-hued pour.
When it comes to today’s brew, it’s difficult to tell the difference between beer and jam. But it’s easy to see that The Gadget’s one of the berry-ist beers in all the land.
