A Note on This Beer
Being on a competitive baking show would be pretty sweet (no pun intended)! Although, my own cooking skills are probably more suited for something in the realm of the Kids Baking Championship than anything.
That is to say, even my most prized recipe could never hold a candle to THE GREAT BLACKSTACK BAKEOFF: BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE. This intensely fruited Sour packs so much authentic blueberry crumble flavor, even Chef Gordon Ramsay would raise his brow and nod in approval.
To craft it, the confectioners at BlackStack started with a mixed culture Berliner Weisse base aged in oak foeders for six months. Then, they conditioned it on obscene amounts of earthy-sweet blueberries, mounds of house-roasted almonds, and plenty of brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and lactose.
This silky crumble is ridiculously delicious — the gooey pie filling flavors are so true-blue(berry) that BlackStack’s fans rate the brew an astonishing 4.35 on Untappd!
Every bite — er, sip, delivers the tangy taste of fresh-baked blueberry filling wrapped in a soft, graham cracker crust blanket and coated in flambéed brown sugar. And, on top there’s a cool dollop of luscious vanilla ice cream!
As I sit here tipping back this sweet-tart dessert, I bet BlackStack could enter Blueberry Crumble in a baking contest and give the actual crumbles a run for their money.
