A Note on This Beer
“Yo, remember back on the boogie when cats used to harmonize like
Yo, my men and my women . . . yo, it’s about a thing
If you feel real good wave your hands in the air
And [lift two beers] in the atmosphere!”
I know y’all have great taste in music — and in beer. You’re familiar with the beats of Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and Lauryn Hill — tunes as classic as Citra, Mosaic, and Cascade Hops.
But, have you heard of Loral Hops? If not, sit back, relax, and allow today’s beer to give you a quick edu-ma-cation in this versatile “Super Noble” variety. This floral, citrusy, and slightly-sweet hop is descended from the Glacier Hop, which traces its roots back to Tardif de Bourgogne — a Noble Hop from the Burgundy region of Eastern France!
Four City Brewing knows how to pull fantastic flavors out of these cones, and The Miseducation of Loral Hops is a deliciously juicy example of their expertise.
Each sip of this crushable, double-dry hopped NEIPA bursts with notes of ripe tangerines from Citra Hops. Loral Hops add notes of tangy lemons, spicy pepper, and a whisper of herbaceous dank. Plus, they used the Cryo version of Loral, for even more smooth, sippable haze.
It’s the brewers’ tribute to Ms. Lauryn Hill, who hails from South Orange, NJ — just minutes away from their taproom!
Craft and hip-hop fans alike can’t get enough of this harmonious hop combo. @Al C. raves, “delicious beer. So juicy. All I want in an IPA.” And @Gary H. says, “this should be distributed everywhere. I'd go out of my way to buy it.”
Sorry, Gary. The sad truth is, you can’t get the pillowy-soft brew that @Jermaine R. calls “pure fire” outside of New Jersey or Virginia — unless, of course, you pick up a can right here.
