A Note on This Beer
Crack open today’s IPA, take a deep, lingering sip, and you’ll taste why Double Mountain is known as “the brewer’s brewery.”
Nestled smack-dab in the middle of Northwest hop country, these multi GABF and Oregon Beer Award medalists are renowned as some of the region’s best hop handlers! They’re always geeking out over the latest ingredients and style tweaks.
And today’s brew is the final installment in their Brewer Experimental IPA Series, dedicated to coaxing out new flavors from different hop and yeast combos.
While it is crafted with copious amounts of Azacca Hops, The Other Matt showcases Norwegian Kveik yeast for robust tangerine aromas and candied tropical fruit flavors. Layers of ripe mango and sticky pineapple splash the palate in each succulently smooth 6.2% ABV mouthful, while subtle vinous character from the yeast lingers throughout.
Kveik yeast is traditionally used for European Farmhouse styles, but thanks to experimental brewers like Double Mountain pushing the envelope, it’s become increasingly popular for IPAs. Brewers love Kveik because it accents a variety of hops without compromising its own flavor!
Normally, only Pacific Northwest craft drinkers get to taste Double Mountain’s innovation. Now’s your chance to bring it home and make “the brewer’s brewery” YOUR brewery.
*Wondering why the bottle says “Reduce, Reuse, Repeat?” Double Mountain participates in a reusable bottle program!
