About This Beer
This Imperial Stout “pays homage to wine makers and brewers alike” with additions of multiple grape varieties from the experimental vineyard block of Napa Valley’s Rutherford AVA. The brewers used a medley of cabernet sauvignon, carignane, cabernet franc, and petite sirah. And they aged the beer in new French oak puncheons for 2.5 years.
Tasting Notes
Expect vinous nuances of plum, raspberry, and black cherry harmonizing with notes of dark chocolate. Look for whispers of oak and subtle hints of black pepper adding complexity to the still pour.
