A Note on This Beer
Breweries are stepping up their game in anticipation of Alaska’s Beer Week on the horizon. It’s the time of year when AK brewers really show off their skills, rolling out the metaphorical red carpet at their taprooms with unforgettable taplists!
So, when Anchorage Brewing announced today’s brand new The Turning Shape Belgian-style Tripel, we got tingly with excitement from our fingers to our toes!
If these world-renowned brewers are going to introduce a fresh contender before Alaskan Beer Week, you know it’s going to be the type of pour that makes a lasting impression.
To create it, Anchorage adds earthy Saaz Hops to the Belgian-style Tripel, then ferments AND ages it in Oak Foeders. After allowing it to naturally carbonate in the cans, each sip seamlessly blends hints of coriander and clove alongside pricks of pepper. Then the delicately malty backbone elevates notes of candied orange rinds and whispers of brandy, leading to a dry finish with just a hint of hoppy bitterness.
If you want to preview what these famous Alaskan brewers are pouring for the crowds, this is the only place to grab a taste! Well that, or you could fly up to the Great White North and visit the festival yourself.
But considering it’s -20 degrees right now, you may want to hold off on that option and just get your Alaskan drinking experience delivered to your door instead.
