A Note on This Beer
For today’s Mezcal Barrel Exemption, it’s almost like Taxman Brewing tagged along with a Belgian monk traipsing through the Oaxacan countryside, carefully choosing the perfect floral, anise-soaked Mezcal barrels to pair with their lemony, clove-scented, 9% ABV Tripel.
From one of Indiana’s premier Belgian-inspired breweries, Mezcal Barrel Exemption is a must try for barrel fans. It opens up with a symphony of lemon and orange zest enhanced by coriander spiciness. Taxman has this expertise, blending the spicy-sweet flavors of agave spirits with Belgian esters, then balancing these light flavors with sweet and herbaceous agave nectar. The smoke and heat from the oaky Mezcal barrels is a subtle finish for your tastebuds, lingering there for longer than a Oaxacan sunset.
This south-of-the-border Belgian Tripel mashup is brewed only once a year and only available in Indiana -- until now! For all Barrel-Aged Beer, tequila and mezcal fans, this is one experimental brew to snap up pronto!
