A Note on This Beer

It’s Hop Tropical: The brewers loaded this beer with ultra-juicy Talus, Motueka, and Citra Hops! Fresh Squeezed Flavors: OJ and tangy tangerine dominate up front, then nuances of pineapple and mango come rushing in. On the finish, look for hints of pine and pithy grapefruit.

When we get a new IPA from Anchorage Brewing Company, I get excited about two things: the deliciously juicy haze, and the awesome can art.

Seriously, the art had me lining up cans on the headboard of my bed like I was living in a dorm room — until it got out of hand and spread to the dresser.

Now, I keep my Anchorage art collection in the garage. My favorites are based on work by an English artist who goes by the name of Wolf Skull Jack. Today’s brew is a tribute to her, and what a tribute it is.

One brewery devotee, @Shopping B. says “this might be the best Anchorage Brewing beer I’ve ever had.” That’s high praise when you’re talking about the crew Thrillist called one of the Best Breweries in America!

So, whether you’re looking to treat your taste buds to a deliciously juicy brew, or indulge your eyes with some really killer can art, The Wolf Skull Jack has you covered. Just be careful about where you store the empty can — you wouldn’t want anyone recycling this masterpiece.

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

The beer is quite hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left thick rings of bubbles around the sides of the glass and a thin head covering the surface. The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of lychee and hints of basil-like herbs. Only a slight amount of bitterness is perceptible.

On the first sip I get a little lychee and then mild bitterness. I agree with those who say that this is a slightly hoppy Pilsner...

Described as an India pale ale here, I have seen it described as a New England elsewhere. It is a cloudy and hoppy and citrusy beer. Very well done. Much better than the rankings here give it.

Wonderful hoppy nose; floral & tropical. Robust, foamy head. Pours a hazy light gold hue. Clean, smooth mouthfeel. Palate is mainly citrusy. Grapefruit is prominent. Subtle tangerine, pineapple, & piney notes follow. Low bitterness, but enough to notice.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy, milky yellow pour, fine head. Light bready aroma, faint citrus. Taste is zippy and zesty, and the flavors are very subdued . Creamy feel. Leaves your palate buzzing.

Very light hop IPA. I would say it is not as bitter as you would expect from and IPA, rather a bit more on the smooth side.

This ones good! It’s juicy and tasty. Nothing spectacular but then again, I expect everything from Anchorage to be spectacular which is setting the bar too high for anyone! This is still far and away better than more run of the mill hazies!

Very mild hoppy flavor, really mild flavor in general. Solid beer, hazy but tastes more like a slightly hoppy Pilsner.

Honestly, the best beer I've had from Anchorage. It's not overly hoppy like most IPAs, and the cut off citrus is so satisfying.

This is a real middle-of-the-road DDH IPA Soft Tepid Domesticated wolf dog Trimmed Declawed Yawning Resting on the floor in front of the camp stove, the tick tok of the grandson clock is easily audible over Jack's low breathing Sometimes that kind of boredom is not preciptated as boredom, but peace Sometimes on a Sunday afternoon, the sun casting warm trapazoids of light across beech wood floors, the sound of time passing with neither excitement nor trepidation is Exactly What the doctor ordered
