About This Beer
Through Woven Branches is a limited offering released in honor of Elder Pine’s anniversary. To craft this Barrel-Aged Dark Lager blend, Elder Pine combined three whiskey barrel-aged beers — a Black Lager aged 20 months, a Baltic Porter aged 23 months, and an Amber Lager aged 20 months. Then they lagered the blend in steel for an additional four weeks.
Tasting Notes
Every light, decadent sip cascades in complex nuances of dark chocolate, rich caramel, roasted malt, and whispers of spiced oak. It all culminates in a refreshing, whiskey-kissed, Lager-crisp finish.

Halfway through this one and each sip enhances the complexity. Incredibly rich and flavorful for a 6.5 ABV lager.

love the style, beer was pretty great.

Definitely noticed notes of oak and some coffee roasts. The barrel aged dark made this pretty good for me but it was a bit lighter than I was hoping (as a lager should be)

was very surprised with one. not heavy on barrel aging but enough to know it’s very much there.

Woody and dry, almost red wine-esque, combined with a velvety mouth feel and flavors that seem akin to a beautiful Frankenstein's monster concoction of dark beer, whiskey, and somehow coffee grounds.

I found this to be quite tasty and complex. The different layers were noticeable with a nice cocoa finish. As it warmed up it still good. Fantastic job.

Roasty, malty aromas. Medium mouthfeel. Notes of bittersweet chocolate, oak, and a bit of coffee and whiskey. Finishes crisp and dry. Really unique beer.
