A Note on This Beer
To any hopheads who think Pale Ales are just weaker, less juicy versions of IPAs, I’ve got 5 words for you: Tiger Style Fierce Pale Ale.
Clocking in at 7.4% ABV, Tiger Style is stronger than most of the IPAs you’d see on the store shelves. But, you’ll barely notice that fierce ABV behind all its citrus-soaked flavor.
Thanks to a massive dry-hopping with El Dorado, and Citra Hops, it’s as juicy as fresh-squeezed OJ! So much so that you could use it as a cocktail mixer. No kidding!
Orono Brewing, the award-winning crew behind this stunning Pale Ale, shared their personal recipe for crafting a “Tigerita.” It’s exactly what it sounds like: a bit o’ tequila, lime, and Tiger Style. How many IPAs do you know of that are juicy enough to make tequila taste good!?
Personally, there aren’t many that I would try this with. But, if you don’t feel like wasting away in Tigerita-ville, a stash of Tiger Style is still a fierce addition to your beer fridge.
New England haze hunters like @ichorNet on BeerAdvocate who’ve tasted this murky marauder all seem to agree that Tiger Style “has the makings of a hidden gem!”
You probably have some friends who’d see a Pale Ale like Tiger Style and turn it down, simply because there’s no “India” at the beginning. But, that just means there’s more of this treat for the rest of us!
*USA Today named Orono Brewing one of the Top 10 Best Brewpubs in the U.S. for 2019; Thrillist calls them out for brewing some of the Hottest IPAs in America Right Now
