After accidentally inhaling cocoa powder off the top of one too many pieces of tiramisu, I’ve had to give the stuff up for good. 

Which is a real shame, because that elegant combination of chocolate, lady fingers, and espresso is one of my all-time favorites. Thank goodness I can get my fix from today’s bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout that delivers all those familiar flavors in — dare I say — an even more delectable package!

As the brew slumbered in its barrels, it soaked up decadent dessert notes of oaky vanilla and caramel-y bourbon. And those flavors serve to accent the Tahitian vanilla beans, cacao nibs, and coffee beans that swim in this decadent brew! 

Of course, I’m not surprised that this 4.29 UT-rated treat comes from the brilliant brewers at Masthead. Named one of USA Today’s Best New Breweries shortly after their opening, these GABF gold medalists are regular King Midases when it comes to crafting winners!

I’ll be saving my throat from the cruel burn of a too-eagerly-inhaled bite of Italian cake and opting for this BBA Tiramisu treat instead — with 13.2 % ABV, it’s far more fun, anyway.
