A Note on This Beer
In a previous installment of this series, Anchorage asked: Where is Tomorrow?
Answer: RIGHT HERE.
And, it’s still loaded with Phantasm Powder, the ingredient that the folks at Anchorage are one of the first in the world to get their hands on!
Straight out of New Zealand, Phantasm Powder is made from freeze dried Sauvignon Blanc grape skins. These skins have a ton of thiols in them — the same stuff that produces the fruity characteristics in hops! The blogging beer fanatics on Fueled by Hops go so far as to call Phantasm Powder “a total thiol bomb unlike anything we’ve tasted.”
The result in this latest Imperial IPA from Anchorage is an elevated sip of sumptuous haze. Lemon-lime and white grape notes from the Phantasm Powder supplement the Strata and Nelson Sauvin Hops and their juicy pops of pineapple and mango. Finally, it all settles into a springtime floral finish that’ll be difficult to set down.
If you didn’t get your hands on any of the previous release in this IPA series, you may have been left kicking yourself. Well, fret not — Anchorage has upped the wattage on this installment in their experimental, hoppy family and given you another shot at a brand new variety of IPA goodness! Grab some quick!
