A Note on This Beer
Beating out IPAs from the likes of Trillium, Cigar City, and Dogfish Head in Paste Mag’s blind tasting, Silver City’s Tropic Haze IPA is the juicy pride of the Northwest. As a Washington State fridge staple, it's the hazy gem we pour out-of-town visitors to give them a proper introduction to the West Coast hop scene.
Locals will tell ya there’s nothing like this ultra juicy orange-mango cocktail. Oats and wheat combine to thicken the mouthfeel, and the haze-inducing properties of Silver City’s proprietary yeast strain lend extra-fruitiness. Add in the brewery’s rock solid GABF award-winning skills and you’ve got a hoppy essential that’s pulling in 4+ scores on BA and on Tavour.
Tropic Haze pours bold aromas and flavors from the can. Overripe cantaloupes, pineapples, and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice flows alongside muscat grapes and a touch of green onion dankness. A twist of mango with more pineapple splashes over the tongue with a kiss of mandarin and hints of bitter herbs.
Sometimes we forget how good we have it in the Northwest, where tropical IPAs from Silver City are always within reach. Today we’re sharing our stash of Tropic Haze to help make the world a hoppier place.
